Visit Tricia at The Miss Rumphius Effect for instructions.
The challenge this week is the Lune:
The lune is a haiku variation invented and named by poet Robert Kelly. The lune,
so called because of how the right edge is bowed like a crescent moon, is a
thirteen syllable form arranged in three lines of 5 / 3/ 5 respectively.(Adapted
from The Teachers & Writers Handbook of Poetic Forms.)
Here is my first quick response on a topic that seems impossible to escape for the last few weeks:
Late-summer heat
Rising up
Suffocating me
I am so very aware each day as I work with 7th graders:
Adolescent angst
agony
It's all about me
As I think of my blogname and mourn again the physical absence of my father in my life, this more poetic topic yields:
Daddy's roses bloom --
Loneliness!
I long for him still!

Usually I don't take poetry challenges (PT usually has optional ideas), but this looks interesting. I thought you had retired?
iT has always been my contention that middle schoolers are among the most interesting and lovable of God's creatures, individually. But two or more of them should never be allowed to gather together!!!
I enjoyed reading your lunes!
