Learning to Sew

Our 9-year-old granddaughter, Bri, has been wanting to learn to sew for some time, so she got a beginner sewing machine for Christmas. Sunday, I stayed with my daughter's children while she and her husband went to a funeral. We took the opportunity to cut out her first sewing project - a fabric purse. We got it all cut out and started sewing in the small amount of time that we had, and we had a great time. Her 8-year-old sister also helped us.

Bri and Nat worked together to pin the pattern pieces and to cut them out.

The girls and their brother, Jed, had made a table centerpiece from jonquils found in their backyard.

We had a wonderful day working together.
