I read an interesting post at The Education Wonks - Thoughts And Ideas Freely Exchanged in which the writer comments on a recent survey on why students quit school. The survey includes some interesting comments by these dropouts. The article includes some interesting statistics.
But the conclusion drawn was the most "interesting" part of the article. School just was not challenging enough to keep these students there, according to many of the dropouts. Surprise! The high rate of school dropouts is the school's fault! Even if the student didn't want to learn, wouldn't try to learn, wouldn't even come to school regularly -- it is the school's fault! Anybody surprised?
