 The second challenge of 2021 in the Poetry division of Deadlines for Writers was to write three haikus on one theme. This was my submission. 

Dawn

Dark morning canvas -

Slow gray line reveals mountains.

Morn’s pink light makes art.

Damp and chill recede;

Warm rays of love light the face

Of day’s beginning.

****

Rested from the night,

I open my soul and heart.
