The Decoy
Wylena focused on the deputy detailing her part in the strategy.
She rubbed her palms against her thighs. The walls inched closer, and the air
supply in the room dwindled. She dug her
fingertips into her palms and thought of Casey.
Fear would not stop her from doing her part to save her
sister. Time to “put up or shut up.”
Legs trembling, Wylena stood.
Deep inhale. “Okay, let’s do it!”
