Male or Female?

If you have ever thought, "Isn't that just like a man?!" or "How typical of women!", maybe you'll enjoy this venture into gender definition.

HOT AIR BALLOONS are male objects. To get them to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under them.

PHOTOCOPIERS are are female. Once they are turned off, it takes a while to warm them up again.

TIRES are male. They go bald easily and are often over inflated.

SPONGES are female. They are soft and squeezable, and they retain water.

WEB PAGES are also female. They're constantly being looked at and frequently getting hit on.

TRAINS are definitely male because they always use the same old lines for picking up people.

EGG TIMERS are female. Over time, all the weight shifts to the bottom.

HAMMERS are Male. In the last 5000 years, they've hardly changed at all and are occasionally handy to have around.

FREEZER BAGS are male. We know this because although they hold everything in, you can see right through them.

THE REMOTE CONTROL, surprisingly, is female. Ha! You probably thought it would be male, but consider this: It easily gives a man pleasure and he'd be lost without it!

And so, dear students, your homework assignment:

Determine the gender of the following objects and state the rationale for your choices.

1. Christmas tree

2. A brightly wrapped present

3. Snowball

4. Santa's Sleigh
