We live an hour and a half’s drive from my daughter’s family. Yesterday She and her children went shopping for birthday gifts for their uncle and cousin. On the way home, when they drove by a house near them that we had talked about buying, they noticed that it was “under contract.”
My daughter commented, “Oh, no! The house has been sold; Now Gram and Granddaddy can’t buy it!”
Still in gift-shopping mode, her barely-five-year-old son started brightly, “Well, if we bought that house for Gram and Granddaddy…”
He paused, heaved a labored sigh, and continued, “we’d have a whole lot of wrappin’ to do!”
