The key word in the title of this post is the second one - ILLEGAL! What does it mean? Is it a good thing? Do we encourage people to break the law (so something illegal)?
Certainly this country is a country founded by immigrants and has always welcomed immigrants; but the immigrants of the past were people who came into the country legally and valued the country enough to meet the requirements to remain here or worked to become citizens. This is not what this current controversy is about. Wanting to have our country's laws enforced does not make a person a bigot.
